Clinical Trial Results
Results from a clinical study show that DERMACYTE Oxygen Concentrate, a novel oxygen delivery serum, when applied twice daily to the face improves the appearance of fines lines and wrinkles as well as overall skin appearance.
- 77 % of patients saw improvement with their skin appearance by Week 4.
- 97% of patients experienced an overall skin improvement as graded by their physician by week 8.
- 80 % saw at least one grade of improvement with their skin appearance (FWAS).
- Up to three visible grades of improvement (FWAS) have been detected.

Background
Saturated oxygen environments have been known to have clinical benefit in a variety of therapeutic indications. A perfluorocarbon used topically has been shown to promote wound healing in a recent randomized, controlled trial. In addition, increased oxygen tension has been shown to attenuate acute ultraviolet‐B‐induced angiogenesis and wrinkle formation.
Objective
This study was conducted to evaluate the efficacy of a novel oxygen delivery cream applied topically in the improvement of the appearance of fine lines and overall skin appearance.
Method
Thirty‐six women ages 39‐63 with mild to moderate facial wrinkles were enrolled and treated in an eight‐week trial of DERMACYTE Oxygen Concentrate for the appearance and improvement of fine lines. Assessment of the efficacy of this novel cosmetic was made by measuring improvements in skin wrinkles and elastosis using the Fitzpatrick Wrinkle Assessment Scale (FWAS), texture using skin replication, and subject‐reported and investigator‐reported improvement in self‐image using a validated Global Improvement Aesthetic Scale (GAIS).
Results
At the conclusion of the 8‐week study, 80% of subjects experienced at least a one grade improvement on the FWAS (P<0.0001); 97% experienced at least a one grade improvement compared to their baseline photos according to the investigator's GAIS (P<0.0001), and 84% showed at least a one grade improvement on their own self perception of GAIS (P<0.0001).
The topical application of oxygen in the form of DERMACYTE Oxygen Concentrate improves the appearance of fine lines as well as overall skin appearance.
